Nevada Recap: Time to start learning

Don't have a lot of time this morning, so I'm going to do this recap bullet-point style. Bill Self's adjustment to zone was a good move, and would have won us the game. Too bad we gave them 10 points from the line in the final four minutes, all with silly, non-shooting fouls. That was the game in my opinion.

It is time for Chalmers to start getting more minutes than Hawkins.

The Seniors didn't play like it tonight - stupid mistakes and missed shots by Moody and Hawkins hurt us at key points.

CJ Giles has got to put himself in better position for rebounds and eliminate the stupid fouls.

Micah Downs should be playing more.

We've now got to win out through Kentucky to have a reasonable chance at a good seed in the tournament (with the Big 12 schedule looming).

This team will get better with the addition of Stewart and Jackson. We could have used both of them last night.

The team will hopefully learn how to win tough games. We've now lost two games to two tournament teams by a total of 3 points. Is that solace? Given how young we are, I think it is, but it doesn't change the fact that we're going to have to start winning and start winning soon. We NEED to beat St. Joes. There's no getting around it.
