Yes, "the pass" happened, and yes, it was Christian Moody who made it. The Moody Maniacs slept like babies because of it. And now, if you missed it, or would like to see it again, you can see it no less than 4 times on the video below. You should probably be able to see it on ESPN Motion a little later today.
How about that pass?
The AP story agrees:
LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) The play of the night could turn out to be the play of the year for No. 2 Kansas - no matter how far the Jayhawks go this season.
Even after Wayne Simien's 20 points led five players in double figures in a 93-74 victory Thursday night over TCU, the Jayhawks were still shaking their heads and laughing about the play with 5:11 left.
With the Jayhawks holding a 13-point lead, Christian Moody took a pass from Simien under the basket and perfectly fired a blind one-handed pass over his head to a surprised J.R. Giddens on the wing.
Giddens then dropped in a 3-pointer that brought a roar from the sellout crowd and put Kansas on top 77-61.
"I thought, `Man, that was crazy,"' said Giddens, who had 13 points. "I was real surprised. Then I figured I'd better hit the 3. You've got to finish a beautiful play like that."
And, to continue a theme, here's a picture of the beneficiary of Moody's blind generosity, J.R. Giddens, celebrating after successfully draining the three.
