Sporting News high on Kansas for 06-07

We're ages away from late night, but the writers coming off hiatus a bit, we're bound to get more of this all-summer-long.

Kansas was another big winner in the early entry game. Brandon Rush, a probable first-round pick, said no the NBA for the second time (he almost left out of high school), giving the Jayhawks all five starters back.

Those are the same starters that won 15 of 16 games entering the NCAA Tournament last season -- all against Big 12 opponents.

Incoming five-star point guard Sherron Collins, Rivals.com's No. 21-ranked senior, will give the Jayhawks another weapon to add to what is already one of the nation's best backcourts.

Bill Self and his boys won't have to deal with a league loaded with top 25 teams, either. Oklahoma is back in rebuilding mode and Texas might have to replace its top three players.
