Hey guys! Well, after much breathless anticipation on the part of all of you in cyberspace (Right?), PhogBlog is happy to bring you the 2nd episode of PhogCast. Running just under half an hour, this week's episode discusses:

1) The trials and tribulations of the KU football team, plus predictions for this weekend's game against the Colorado Buffaloes.

2) A brief women's hoops preview, including discussion of KU JuCo transfer, and pre-season Big 12 Newcomer of the Year, Shaquina Mosley.

3) Discussion of Late Night in the Phog, and breakdown of the scrimmage.

4) And finally, talk about the newest addition to the Jayhawk Family, the #2 Point Guard in the class of 2006, Sherron Collins.

So as you can see, there was a lot of ground to cover, but we got it done. Bear with us as we get the wrinkles ironed out, because we'll be getting better and better each week.

Next week Danny and myself hope to be joined by Jeremy and David, as we discuss our hopes for the team with the basketball season drawing ever closer, and hopefully a Jayhawk win over the Buffs. Stay tuned!

PhogCast Episode 1: The First ever Kansas Jayhawks Podcast

We've entered a brave new world, folks. Whereas once you had to use your eyes to discovers the joys of Kansas Basketball here at the Phog Blog, now you only need your ears. Yes, we're now PhogCasting. This is the link to the first PhogCast.

To get you started, here's a brief FAQ:

What is a PhogCast?

Nominally speaking, a PhogCast is a clever derivative of Podcast. A podcast is a recorded program that can automatically be downloaded to a computer or an mp3 player. PhogCasts are about KU sports, and consist of roughly 30 minutes of uninterrupted Jayhawk commentary and discussion. Imagine quality KU sports radio, by fans, for fans, that doesn't have commercials and can be taken with you wherever you go. Sort of like a concentrated Jayhawk boullion cube in the broad interest, lame brain watery soup of mainstream broadcast sports radio, dig?

How can I listen to the PhogCasts?

The easiest way is by just downloading them to your computer. You can then upload them to your MP3 player or listen on your computer at your leisure. Alternatively, you can subscribe to the PhogCasts using a program like Ipodder or Itunes, and listen when you get the time on your personal media device of choice.

What do you mean "Subscribe"?

By subscribing to PhogCasts, you will be set up to download the PhogCast whenever one is published, without having to seek it out. We come to you. With a little work, you can set it up such that new PhogCasts are delivered right to your ipod. Then, you can listen to great Jayhawk talk while you're at the gym or at work, or in your car.

If you have any questions, leave a comment, and we'll try to help you out. We recommend Itunes and Ipodder for subscribing to the future PhogCasts, which should happen every week.

Thanks and let us know what you think.
